Welcome to the Goodwill Raid 2010
24th July to 8th August 2010

Europe's Largest Own Boat Flotilla
Your opportunity to break free and cruise the West Country, the Channel Islands, or Brittany...
Or cruise all three areas, with like minded skippers and the excellent company of our international crews.
You join us where you like and leave where you like, set your own itinerary, and sail with other yachts or on your own to the next main port of call.
Plymouth - Weymouth - St Peter Port - Saint-Malo - Brest - and a Solent Marina
These are our main ports of call in the summer of 2010. Naturally, we will call in at many more attractive ports, secluded bays, sandy beaches, and secret anchorages en route.

"We can party..... but we sail, motor and cruise as well..."
Big Party in Saint-Malo
The big main attraction next year is the “Actions Stations” Rally and Regatta in Saint-Malo which is a "Regatta" in the traditional sense of the word. If you do not want to race, there are a variety of on the water activities for all types of boats, including treasure hunts, trips to BBQ’s on Island beaches, convoys, parades of sail, and a different port and social gathering every evening.
All types of boat are invited...
The raid is open to all boats, sailing or motor, mono-hulls or multi-hulls, charter and sea school boats.
The Pilot - Lead Boats
You are invited to “The Pilot Cutters Party” – we have several Classic Pilot Cutters leading the Goodwill Raid 2010 for various stages of the voyage culminating in a big party in Saint-Malo where they will be the guests of honour. This is a unique opportunity for you to sail with, or on, one of these historic vessels, taking you back in time to the early nineteen hundreds, when pilots competed for the custom of incoming merchant ships and these graceful craft looked after their crews in all weathers in the Western approaches to the Channel and the major trading ports along its length.
Sailing with the Goodwill Raid you will benefit from:
  Relaxed cruising with a lot of fun and laughter with new found friends;
  An organised programme of events both on the water and at the main ports of call;
  The safety of cruising and crossing the Channel in company;
  Group bookings and reduced fees at the main ports of call;
  A social programme that crosses cultural, linguistic, and racial boundaries;
  Skipper and Crew briefings for your guidance;
  Guidance from experts when needed to solve your cruising problems;
  Long lasting friendships; and
  Some of the most beautiful cruising grounds in the Northern hemisphere.

You are joining a club…
By joining the Goodwill Raid you are becoming a member of a select band of sailors and navigators who certainly operate on the principal “One for all and all for one…”
Why the “Goodwill Raid?” - It is our intention to create the spectacle of a large fleet of boat coming over the horizon and homing in on the port of call, in a manner of speaking “a Raid” on the port of call, but only with the intention of fostering “Goodwill” amongst the people we meet. Our French friends might call it “La Route de Bon Volanté,” but they usually refer to it as “Le Goodwill.”
News…
Arrangements are ongoing and as new benefits are negotiated with marinas clubs and suppliers we send out the information in our newsletters to those who have registertheir interest, and post it here on the website. So come back occasionally to keep up to date with the latest news.
