The Raid Route and Itinerary 2010

Starting from Saint-Malo - Raid Routes 4 & 5

If you keep your boat in the North of Brittany or near Saint- Malo the are 2 routes from Saint-Malo to join the Goodwill Raid.

Route 4 takes you North via the Normandy coast to Cherbourg and across to the Solent for a few days before sailing with the Solent boats to Weymouth where the main flotilla will be forming. You then cross the Channel again and make your way back to Saint-Malo via the Channel Islands.

Route 5 is a challenging sail along the North Brittany coast to L’Aber Wrac’h where you should meet the boats coming from Brest. You cross the channel together and meet the West Country flotilla in Mayflower Marina in Plymouth.

N.B. The ports indicated between the main ports of call are notional suggestions. Skippers are not required to go to them or to take the suggested route. Routing decisions are the responsibility of each and every skipper, and will be taken at the time, dependant on wind, weather and tide. Past experience show skippers form up into one or more groups and sail in easy proximity of each other, forming a flotilla.
